At Century 21 Redwood Realty and Century 21 Redwood AdVenture, we are proud to have many agents who are deeply involved with their community. Oftentimes, people don't understand that real estate agents are much more than just an agent. Our agents are parents, spouses, partners, siblings, children, local politicians and much more. Most importantly, though, our agents are members of and actively involved in their respective communities. Most of our agents are giving back to where they live in some way. We'd like to showcase some of them here.
For our inaugural edition, we'd like to introduce Thomas Roach.

Tom has lived in the Lake of the Woods area of Virginia for almost 20 years now. Tom's favorite aspect about living in Lake of the Woods is living on the lake. Tom has been a real estate agent/broker for almost 15 years, and enjoys meeting people and keeping busy. He says that that's very important when you're 80 years old! One of Tom's local activities is working as a member in his local Lions Club. For those of you unfamiliar with the Lions, it is the world's largest service club organization with over 46,000 clubs and 1.35 million members internationally. Tom's Lions club in Lake of the Woods is the largest in Virginia with 110 members. Their mission statement is "We Serve."
Tom shows off his Lions' heart by donating three hours every Friday morning to recycling eyeglasses, a popular Lions program. Recycling eyeglasses is one of the Lions club's biggest endeavors in an effort to improve sight and prevent blindness in second and third-world countries. Lake of the Woods Lions Club processes over 40,000 pairs of glasses annually! Tom's efforts don't stop there, however. Tom also takes his truck to the Fredericksburg Food Bank once a month to bring a pickup truck's worth of food to The Wilderness Food Pantry. Run by Lake of the Woods Lions & Lioness Clubs, the Pantry distributes food to about 150 needy families in Orange County, Virginia. Donations are welcome at any time. Tom also gives back to the Lions 5% of any net commission that occurs as the result of a Lions-related transaction. Why does Tom do all of these things? At first it was to "make contacts," he says, but now he "enjoy[s] giving back to the community."
Thank you, Tom!
