miracle on ice

The main attraction in the Fort Dupont area is the ice rink in Fort Dupont Park. It is old, cold and home to freestyle, hockey and figure skaters galore. The rink sells ice time to local high schools for practices and games. It also sets aside public skate time so anyone can lace them up an give it a go. I have fond memories of playing hockey there (games that began at midnight) and sitting around outside afterwards with team mates, rehashing the game.They do close in April and June and there is a plan to revitalize the building. For now, ah, you just have to take a ride and learn to glide.
