Carl's Ice Cream
A main stay in Fredericksburg, Carl's is by far the best spot for an ice cream cone (well, technically it's frozen custard). It's a family favorite especially in the summer. The line can get long but it goes quickly!

Fought in the Wilderness region of Virginia, Chancellorsville was General Robert E. Lee’s greatest defensive victory. Standing at the cannons that look out over the fields one can almost feel the ghosts of this historic battle and see the advancement of Stonewall Jackson who is buried nearby. The Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitors Center is open daily from 9 am-5 pm, except January 1, Thanksgiving Day and December 25. Hours expand on spring and fall weekends and daily during the summer. Admission is free, but a fee is charged for the 22 minute film: $2 ages 10-61, $1 ages 62 and above. http://www.visitfred.com/history/civil-war-period/chancellorsville-battlefield-visitor-center
French Cuisine at its Finest!
La Petite Auberge! A tremendous spot on William Street in the heart of the historic district of Fredericksburg! Whether it be for an intimate lunch or dinner or a larger gathering, La Petite Auberge is the perfect spot! They have a bar in the front that is warm and inviting and less formal than their dining room. Their service is outstanding as well! Their portions are perfect, and the cuisine is neat and beautifully presented I can't recommend the trout almondine enough! I think I have had it the last 4 times I have been there! They also have a fantastic wine selection!

When is Fredericksburg, Virginia NOT Fredericksburg, Virginia
Many people from out of the area don’t understand how the Fredericksburg Region is laid out. There are actually 2 counties & 1 city that make up the immediate Fredericksburg area. The CITY OF FREDERICKSBURG is an independent city that is surrounded by the counties of Stafford & Spotsylvania. Most city properties have a zip code of 22401. There are areas in Stafford County & Spotsylvania County that also have a FREDERICKSBURG mailing address even though they are located in those respective counties. When you want to look at homes in Fredericksburg, please be sure to clarify if you mean the City of Fredericksburg or if you want to include the surrounding counties. That will help everyone so you get to see the correct housing market.
