About Me
Jennifer Koppenhaver is a problem-solver dedicated to helping real estate clients achieve their housing goals, while at the same time leveraging local business to make a global impact.
A resident of Northern Virginia since 2004, she is particularly familiar with the unique qualities of the region as well as its fast-paced development. Her patience and steadiness are a calming presence in the stressful process to buy or sell a home and move. Jennifer excels at guiding clients through transactions from start to finish and beyond.
With twelve years' experience in the home improvement industry as a small business owner and manager, Jennifer is able to rely on her deeper knowledge of many aspects of the workings of a home in order to advise her clients. Her many years as an entrepreneur have resulted in intense drive and boundless capacity to achieve her clients’ goals.
In addition, Jennifer has an ample understanding of the government workforce and life for federal employees. She has over 12 years' experience in Federal service between time worked at the Transportation Security Administration and the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
Fluent in Spanish and well-traveled in Latin America, Jennifer has the tools to assist clients from varied backgrounds. She earned an Honors Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Geography and Latin American Studies from the University of Delaware in 2004, in additional to completing one year of graduate study at the Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Jennifer’s international perspective and desire to conduct local business that can have a tangible global impact has led her to pledge to fund a home for an impoverished family through a charity called New Story (newstorycharity.org). New Story builds homes in El Salvador, Haiti, and Bolivia at a cost of $6000 for each home. Jennifer is donating the equivalent of 2% of the gross commission paid to her brokerage on buy and sell transactions to New Story. Her goal is to fully fund a home for a family so that they can flourish once this most basic need is met. Please consider visiting this charity’s website to learn more and see how you can help.
Jennifer is originally from southern Delaware and it’s still one of her all-time favorite places to visit. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and traveling. She is, most importantly, mother to two fast-growing boys.
