Jon is a native of Helena, Montana. He attended Carroll College and received a B.A. in finance and economics in 1996. During his undergraduate studies, Jon began working in politics---starting with the Montana State Legislature where he served as aide to the Speaker of the House for the 1991 and 1993 legislative sessions. Upon graduation, Jon came to Washington, D.C. to work on Capitol Hill. For nearly 7 years, he served in the Senate as press secretary to Senator Conrad Burns. During his time on Capitol Hill, Jon completed his MBA in finance and real estate at The American University.
After 7 years immersed in Capitol Hill politics, Jon left to pursue a new career in real estate development. In 2002, he began working for Pulte Homes’ Mid-Atlantic Division. As a land acquisition specialist, Jon combined his political expertise and real estate degree to navigate complex county development processes, including land acquisition, negotiating proffers, rezoning, assessing environmental impacts and permitting.
During his tenure with the Fortune 500 company, Jon was responsible for two of the organization’s most complex development and re-zoning efforts—MetroWest in Fairfax County, and Potomac Yard in the City of Alexandria. For these efforts at MetroWest, Jon and his development team received the Smart Growth Recognition Award from the Urban Land Institute’s Smart Growth Alliance.
After leaving Pulte in 2009, Jon started his own real estate consulting business and also currently serves as Director of Operations for the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association. NVBIA is a trade association that represents not only builders, but also any business associated with the housing industry in Northern Virginia, at all levels of state and local government.
Jon’s extensive involvement, long-standing relationships and broad-based knowledge of the Washington metropolitan region’s real estate markets and political environments gives him a unique perspective on the industry, and enables Jon to assist his clients with all aspects of their residential or commercial real estate needs.
Jon resides in Loudoun County and is married to Caitlin Cloonan Lindgren, an attorney with Arnold & Porter LLP. They have two young sons Connor and Christopher.
