“It’s easy to sell what you love.” That’s been Sita Kapur’s motto for the past 20 years, as she’s been building her brokerage, Arlington Premier Realty. Now, she’s bringing this belief to CENTURY 21 Redwood Realty’s Arlington office as our new Executive Vice President.
The real estate world is small, and Sita is a familiar face around Arlington. In fact, she has known the owners Eddie Berenbaum and Nick Pasquini for over a decade. Nick offered her advice early on as she was building her brokerage, and Eddie says he has “always admired her intense client focus and shared passion for the Arlington market."
After starting in the real estate industry in 1996, Sita hustled to build a thriving business of repeat clientele in Arlington, the place she knew she wanted to call home. In 2008, Sita struck out on her own and opened Arlington Premier Realty. As the broker and owner, she strived to define her brokerage as a boutique firm specializing in the dynamic Arlington market, selling everything from condos to single family homes. She wanted to nurture local agents into becoming area experts while offering the very best client experience, from first showing to closing. With a background in selling for large firms such as Long & Foster and ReMax, Sita knew she wanted to develop a more personalized brand.
Although Arlington Premier Realty became a trusted name in the local market, the demands of both selling real estate and being a full-time broker to her agents became a challenge that ultimately demanded a change. She often reflected upon the advice Nick had provided her, that small brokerages are rarely profitable unless the owner is willing to continue selling, and wondered if that was really what she wanted to spend the rest of her career doing.
Meanwhile, Redwood was never far from Sita’s mind, as she lives right next to our Arlington office. She quickly fell in love with its open environment, the hip decor and the highly visible Courthouse/Rosslyn location. Having always believed that the design and layout of a work environment is a reliable reflection of the personality and priorities of its leaders, she immediately contacted Nick upon hearing of an opening at Redwood. The opportunity to manage Redwood’s Arlington office was like a beacon calling her to accept her career’s greatest challenge.
Now, with the stars aligned, Sita is excited to carry out her vision of managing an extraordinary team of REALTORS® in a work environment that is professional, yet fun-- a space where agents, clients, local businesses and neighbors will come together to work, learn and socialize. She looks forward to maintaining Redwood’s culture of success and support and continuing its reputation as a model that others want to emulate.
