The former also runs on the Maryland state line and separates the city from Washington, DC. The northern sections extend to include Washington Adventist University and Takoma Park Middle School. Silver Spring borders the area to the northwest, Langley Park to the east, Chillum to the southeast, and Takoma, DC to the southwest. Neighborhoods like College Park, Mount Rainer, Adelphi and Hyattsville are all nearby.

Homes for Sale in Takoma Park

Takoma Park houses built between 1883 and 1900 are fanciful, turreted, multi-gabled affairs of Queen Anne architecture with wonderful shingle influences. Houses around the city built at the turn of the 20th century tend to be simpler, although a few display Art Deco and Tudor Revival styles. There’s also no homeowners association, which gives homeowners unrestricted guidelines on how to maintain their property, thus keeping the sense of individuality within the city.

Other notable restaurants in that area include Roscoe’s Pizzeria and Mark’s Kitchen, a casual, bustling storefront eatery serving a mix of Korean and American dishes with vegan options.

For a more kid-friendly environment, check out Mid Atlantic Seafood on New Hampshire Avenue. This no-frills seafood restaurant is known for its wonderful breakfast menu, seafood plates and soul-food dinners, as well as their sandwiches and hardy sides.
