Make no mistake — the real estate market is not where it was 18 months ago. Houses are no longer “flying off the shelves.” Were they ever really, though? It’s incumbent upon brokerages to ensure that their agents are prepared and equipped to thrive in 2023.
The DOMINATE 2023 workshops, held January 17th through January 19th, were created by CENTURY 21 Redwood leadership as a direct response to the state of the market. Instead of viewing this challenging landscape as a roadblock, we see an extraordinary amount of opportunity for the driven agent.

Shawn Milletary and Eddie Berenbaum, two of Redwood’s founders, led all nine workshops across the DMV. An emphasis was put on the sessions being interactive to keep agents engaged and locked in.
Honing in on business planning execution, these sessions were designed to put agents in the driver’s seat in any market to dictate their future success. They had three main focus points:
- Agent super powers
- Marketing activities with wide roots
- Balanced lifestyle
The first section was built to highlight the strengths (superpowers!) of an agent, which is different for everyone. Once they stated their top three super powers, they were then asked to list the “why” behind those abilities.
Next came the marketing activities with a ‘wide roots’ component. Tying into the first focus point, agents explored marketing activities that exploit the aforementioned superpowers.
The third pillar of DOMINATE 2023 was leading a balanced lifestyle. Simply put, an agent cannot fully prosper if they’re working 100% of the time. Remember, “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!”
Following the conclusion of these three exercises, agents wrapped up by updating their business plans based on any additions or changes they made in the workshops.
