Christopher (Chris) Curran was born in London, England just after WWII ended. Chris grew up around the massive U.K. rebuilding from bombings which developed a fascination and love for Real Estate. Educated in London’s St. Aloysius College he emigrated to Virginia in 1963 becoming a U.S. Citizen in 1970.
In 1964 he fell in love with the Shenandoah Valley landing his dream job working for a developer of a 6,000-acre recreational development. During the week he worked with surveyors marking lots and overseeing road building crews while on the weekend selling lots and cabins. In 1969 he became a licensed VA Real Estate Broker opening an office on Main Street in Berryville, VA. Spectrum Properties expanded to three other Valley offices in Winchester, Front Royal and Luray.
In his spare time Chris got a degree from Shenandoah University and developed several properties, including Chapel Estates near Boyce, VA, and the J.I.C. Airport Industrial Park at the Winchester Airport. During the mid-70s Spectrum merged with Consolidated Properties, builder of townhouses, apartments, a nursing home. The firm also had a property management division, brokerage sales and a modular housing factory in South Hill, VA. Named Director of Sales for all divisions, Chris volunteered to go to Saudi Arabia to build the modular business and model homes in Jeddah & Riyadh, and 42 homes on the Red Sea in Yanbu near Mecca. Consolidated was sold to a Richmond, VA company with the provision that Chris continued overseeing sales for one year. During the 80s and 90s, Chris worked and eventually became a part owner of Cambridge, Inc., a property management, construction, industrial & commercial sales broker which was sold in 2007.
In 2013 Chris joined Century 21 as an associate broker selling homes, farms and businesses. Chris says, “This is the happiest time of my real estate career, having the time to match great clients with the right property is magic.” Experience Counts
