About Me
A native New Yorker, born and reared on Long Island, I've called Maryland "home" since 1994. As a six year resident of Germantown, it only seemed natural Montgomery County would become my first market area. The fascination with Frederick County started shortly after arriving in Maryland. Slowly, I found myself looking for any excuse to be in Frederick. Gladly, I showed properties in Adamstown, Brunswick, Frederick proper, Jefferson, Middletown and Thurmont. It's not surprising then that in 2001 my family and I chose to make Frederick our home. Married since 1986 to a rather wonderful guy, you'll often see him installing or removing "Open House" directional signs, attaching brochure boxes to sign posts or fixing sign post panels gone wild. If you see a younger guy at my side, that will be one of my 2 remarkable sons. They grew up in the business, oftentimes sitting in the back of my truck patiently waiting as I dropped off and picked up documents or nestled in a living room corner reading "Harry Potter" while an inspection took place. While neither one is a realtor, they both respect and honor the work their mom has been doing for well over 20 years.
I love everything about the counties I serve: Washington, Montgomery, Frederick and Carroll. But it is Frederick, its rich history, avant-garde spirit and growing diversity that tugs at my heart. There's such an overwhelming sense of welcome, gracious hospitality and history (Baker and Carroll Creek Linear Parks, the Civil War Medicine Museum, Rose Hill Manor, Schifferstadt Museum, Weinberg Center for the Arts and Mount Olivet, the final resting place of Francis Scott Key American lawyer, amateur poet and author of our national anthem).
An active member of the local community, you'll find me teaching a class or two at the local college, serving at the Soup Kitchen, volunteering at the Cold Weather Shelter or working alongside a handful of other community groups to help improve the quality of life for all Frederick citizens.
Over the course of my life, I've lived in: New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and Maryland. Having moved 10 times in seven years, real estate was a natural fit! But, it wasn't until I worked with a broker on Long Island's south fork that the real estate bug bit. Though more than 20 years since I left the shores of Long Island's East End, I am and always will be an "island girl at heart".
